Preschool Aide: 2026-27 School Year

Minnehaha Academy is a Preschool – 12th grade Christian school and a ministry of the Northwest Conference of the Evangelical Covenant Church.

Our mission is to provide a high-quality education integrating the Christian faith and learning.

Minnehaha Academy has an immediate opening for a preschool aide for the 2026-2027 school year.

The salary range for this role is $19 - $22 per hour, depending on experience and education.

Description

  • This position is Monday-Friday, school days and professional development days only.
  • This is an hourly position.
  • The hours are approximately 8:00-4:30 with 8 hours of paid time and an unpaid 30-minute lunch break and a 15-minute paid break.
  • The hourly wage will be determined by our Human Resource Director based on education and experience.
  • There are no benefits available with this position.

Purpose

  • To provide support to the Preschool teachers in implementing the daily learning plans and schedules
  • To assist Preschool students in their developmental growth following the direction of the Preschool Teacher
  • To provide supervision of the Preschool students in a calm and caring manner
  • Primary Functions
  • Assist in delivery of instruction and support the physical, cognitive, social and emotional well-being of the children
  • Assist in day-to-day classroom operations
  • Supervise children throughout the day, including before school care, lunch, recess, and rest times for preschool students

Qualifications

  • include:
  • High school diploma and either a). 2,080 hours as an aide or student intern or b). 12 approved college accredited quarter credits
  • Experience in Early Childhood and/or working with preschool children, parents and staff
  • Passion for working and playing with children
  • Timeliness, reliability and dependability
  • Strong people skills to interact positively with the children, parents, and staff
  • Ability to plan and implement age appropriate activities
  • Support and implementing the Christian-based mission of the school
  • Pediatric CPR/First Aid Certification preferred
  • Ability to complete a background check and DCYF required training and courses
  • Ability to lift 40 pounds
  • Ability to support our mission by relating the Christian faith to learning and life
