Christel House Indianapolis is currently seeking an Elementary SPED Aide at Academy South.
Days of Service: 202 Days
Requirements
Associate degree with some training/exposure to education and teaching Ability and willingness to work collaboratively, maintaining cooperative and effective working relationships. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing. Competency in using technology. Ability to report to work on a regular and punctual basis. An agreement with the mission statement and goals of Christel House Schools. WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING: Maintaining all special education documentation and timelines for case conferences in accordance with state and federal requirements. Ensuring the delivery of services outlined in individual education plans for students with disabilities in accordance with state and federal guidelines. Manage student behavior in the classroom by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures. Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students and use the information to adjust teaching strategies. Encourage parent and community involvement, obtain information for parents when requested, schedule case conferences, promptly return phone calls and answer emails, and establish ongoing communication with parents. Communicate necessary information regularly to students, colleagues, and parents regarding student progress and student needs. Participate in appropriate professional activities Ability and willingness to work collaboratively; maintaining cooperative and effective working relationships Other duties assigned. OTHER FUNCTIONS: Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective performance of the schools.
