Provide hands-on instruction in clinical skills, including history and physical assessments and procedural skills for the Physicianship Track. Develop clinical scenarios for simulation and standardized patient assessments while monitoring student progress toward graduation.
Reporting to the Associate Dean of Pre-Clerkship Education this role will provide instruction specifically in Clinical Skills for the Physicianship Track. SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES: Teaching (100%) Works with Department Chair to provide hands-on student training in history and physical assessment, diagnostic testing, and procedural skills Assists in monitoring the progress of all students to ensure successful progress toward graduation and recommend disciplinary action when necessary Teaches in assigned courses Assist in student testing, re-testing and remediation as necessary Develop clinical scenarios for standardized patient education assessment/evaluation and simulation educucation/assessment Perform other related duties, as assigned SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: N/A QUALIFICATION(S): Health professional with the following degrees: DO, MD, Paramedic, APN, PA Clinical experience providing direct patient care their specialty Have excellent verbal and written communication skills Be detailed oriented and have excellent interpersonal skills Have working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite products and the desire and ability to learn course management software/distance learning technologies Please provide examples of accomplishments, skills, and publications
Experience in precepting Osteopathic medical students in a clinical setting. Experience as an instructor in an clinical skills course or CME course Point of Care Ultrasound as well as experience with Simulation.
