Assists the teacher in developing and leading developmentally appropriate classroom activities and programs. Ensures child safety and maintains compliance with local licensing and accreditation standards.
Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and at least six months of experience working or volunteering with children. Mandatory certifications include CPR (AHA or Red Cross) and the DCF 45-hour Certification.

Works collaboratively with the teacher to assess learning/development needs and to develop age appropriate learning solutions.Attends periodical staff meetings.Assist the teacher with implementing the teaching schedule and curriculum.Follows accreditation and licensing policies and practices.Assist teachers with course progress report procedures.Applies knowledge of learning principles to engage the children in appropriate activities.Supervises children to ensure safety. Ensures classroom meets local licensing standards.
