Job Summary This position works in an ESE K-5th grade classroom supporting classes of approximately 9 students with more intense behavior needs with a 1:3 ratio of staff/student. The primary role of the paraprofessional is to collaborate closely with the teacher and paraprofessional implement tailored strategies to support students achieving high levels academically, socially, and emotionally.

- Responsibilities: Implement individual education plan (IEP) goals as directed by teacher including providing small group instruction. Utilize and ensure consistent implementation of behavior techniques and classroom management techniques and collect required data. Assist in implementing individual behavior plan. Assist in setting up instructional materials and equipment, including enrichment materials for each unit, so that maximum use may be made of resources. Implements lessons plan including instructional groups per teacher’s direction. Assist in administering assessments/progress monitoring. Assist with the implementation and compliance of the MTSS process and support social skills implementation and documentation. Works with the teacher in documenting academic progress through authentic observations and data collection. Utilize and ensure consistent implementation of behavior techniques and classroom. Assist in the communication with therapists and Outside Service Provider and incorporate suggestions into classroom activities. Perform paraprofessional duties in his/her absence. Keep up on best and promising practices for education (i.e., attending professional development, participating in book studies, etc.) Provide caretaking/housekeeping duties as needed (i.e., changing of students, keeping classroom clean) Maintain positive staff and parent interactions and communication. Attend required training, meetings and events. Ensure the administration is informed of all parent and individual student concerns and complaints. Ensure compliance with procedures, requirements and guidelines set forth by UCP, HIPAA, NAEYC, Department of Education, 4C, Department of Children and Families, and other State and Federal agencies. Perform other duties as assigned.
