About the role

Conduct developmental evaluations and assessments for infants and toddlers to determine eligibility for Early Intervention services. Collaborate with families, service coordinators, and therapists within home and community-based settings.

The Alliance for Infants and Toddlers is seeking Developmentalists to work as independent contractors providing multidisciplinary evaluations and assessments for infants and toddlers in Allegheny County to determine eligibility for Early Intervention services.

The Alliance For Infants and Toddlers, Inc. was established in 1988 by a Federal grant to assist families of low birth weight infants.

In 1996, The Alliance was chosen by Allegheny County as the Early Intervention Service Coordination Agency for families of children, ages birth to three years, who have developmental concerns.

In 2022, The Alliance was elected as the Early Intervention Service Coordination Agency to serve children residing throughout Beaver County.

Early Intervention is a variety of supports and services designed to build and enhance the natural learning that occurs in the early years.

Supports and services are provided in the home, childcare site and other community settings identified by the family.

Any child, from birth to three years of age, living in Allegheny County or Beaver County is eligible for a developmental evaluation through Early Intervention.

Join a collaborative Early Intervention team supporting children and families during the critical early years of development.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Early Intervention, Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Special Education, Family Studies, or a related field.

Applicants must also have either

A supervised practicum with preschool children with disabilities and their families, or One year of experience working with preschool children with disabilities and their families.

Responsibilities

Evaluate children from birth to age 3. Collaborate with families, Service Coordinators, and therapists. Provide services in home and community-based settings.

Compensation

$19.10 per 15 minute unit of direct time with families to $23.34 per 15 minute unit of direct time with families

Requirements

Requires a bachelor's degree in Early Intervention, Child Development, Special Education, or a related field. Candidates must have either a supervised practicum or one year of experience working with preschool children with disabilities.
