Position Overview

Parkhurst Academy is seeking a compassionate and enthusiastic Elementary School Teacher. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in elementary education, a commitment to Christian values, and a passion for fostering young students' academic and spiritual growth.

Key Responsibilities

Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons across various subjects to elementary students. Develop and implement a curriculum that meets academic standards and addresses the needs of all learners. Utilize a variety of teaching methods and resources to accommodate different learning styles. Assess and monitor student progress, providing feedback and support to help students succeed. Foster a positive, inclusive, and nurturing classroom environment that encourages student participation and growth. Incorporate Christian principles and values into daily lessons and interactions. Communicate effectively with parents, colleagues, and administrators to support student development. Participate in professional development and school community activities.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education or a related field. Valid state teaching certification for elementary education. Previous experience teaching elementary students. Strong understanding of child development and effective instructional strategies. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Commitment to the Christian faith and the mission of Parkhurst Academy.

Physical Demands

The work is generally sedentary to light and may require exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and up to 10 pounds frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. Ability to sit and stand for long periods.
