Preschool Teacher's Assistant

Compensation

Position Overview

  • This team member will have strong social skills.
  • He or she must have a passion for working with children up to 6 years of age in activities designed to promote social, physical, and intellectual growth needed for primary school.
  • Able to provide a warm, friendly and Christ centered learning environment for little ones and families.
  • To serve as a staff member within a vibrant preschool and working with a committed staff.
  • Will be able to respect leadership and confidentiality, and work successfully and pleasantly with a wide range of personality types in the love and grace of Jesus Christ.
  • Must be a regular church attender with a commitment to personal prayer and Bible study.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Assimilate arriving children to the school environment by greeting them and selecting activities of interest to them.
  • Attend to the children’s basic needs while establishing and enforcing rules for behavior and procedures for maintaining order Observe and evaluate children’s performance, behavior, social development and physical health while assisting the Teacher in organizing and leading activities design to promote these things using games, arts, crafts, music, storytelling and field trips Provide a variety of materials and resources for children to explore, manipulate, both in learning activities and imaginative play Read books to entire classes or to small groups and serve snacks.
  • Assist the Teacher in teaching basic skills such as color, shape, number and letter recognition, personal hygiene and social skills.
  • Consult with parents regarding any issue with their child; to stay on the same page with parents, and to refer to certified counselors as appropriate.
  • Follow the same rules, standards, policies and procedures as all NCCTK employees.
  • Complete other duties as needed to support the NCCTK Preschool team.
