Residency Requirement - Alabama Certificate Requirement - Alabama Teaching Certificate This is a part time temporary contractor position (approximately 25 hours per week) from July 16th through September 30th that will pay $20.00 per hour. The Student Wellness & SEL Facilitator supports student well-being, engagement, and success through structured social-emotional learning, skill-building lessons, and targeted interventions. This role provides classroom-based instruction, small-group facilitation, and individual support focused on coping skills, emotional regulation, behavior support, test-taking strategies, and social development. The Facilitator works alongside counselors, teachers, and MTSS teams to complement existing student support services. Key Responsibilities: SEL Instruction & Classroom Support Deliver SEL lessons in classrooms focused on coping strategies, emotional regulation, stress management, test-taking skills, and positive learning habits Provide push-in support aligned to schoolwide SEL initiatives and MTSS goals Support students in developing self-awareness, self-management, and resilience Small-Group & Targeted Student Support Facilitate small-group SEL and skills-based interventions for students identified through MTSS Support students with behavioral, emotional, or neurodivergent needs Reinforce coping skills, executive functioning, and social skills Adjust group supports based on student progress and needs Collaboration (Without Supervisory or Counseling Authority) Collaborate with school counselors, teachers, MTSS teams, and administrators to align student supports Share observations and progress updates to inform broader student support plans Support families as appropriate and in coordination with school leadership SEL Programming & School Culture Support schoolwide SEL initiatives, including House-based or community-building activities Reinforce positive behavior expectations and student wellness practices Contribute to a supportive, inclusive school culture Documentation & MTSS Support Maintain basic documentation related to lessons, group participation, and student progress Support MTSS tracking and intervention documentation as required Follow confidentiality and student support protocols Qualifications Background in education, counseling-related fields, social work, psychology, or similar (degree or equivalent experience) Experience teaching SEL skills or working with students on emotional, behavioral, or learning strategies Comfort leading classroom lessons and small groups Familiarity with MTSS and SEL frameworks preferred Strong communication, facilitation, and relationship-building skills Work Environment: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
