About the Program

The NATIVE Youth Summer Program is a vibrant and engaging initiative designed to provide children in grades 1st through 8th with a summer filled with fun activities, learning experiences, and personal growth. As a Junior Group Leader, you will be crucial in making this program successful.

Job Responsibilities

Assist in leading and supervising activities for children in grades 1st - 8th Serve as a positive role model and mentor to program participants Support students in core learning concepts such as math, reading, culture, and STEM Facilitate fun and educational activities, including swimming and outdoor games Ensure the safety and well-being of all participants Work collaboratively with other staff members to create a supportive and inclusive environment Engage actively with participants to promote their personal and social development

Qualifications

Age 16-18 Enthusiastic, responsible, and reliable Enjoy working with children and being a positive role model Strong communication and teamwork skills Ability to be active and participate in physical activities, including swimming Interest in personal development and leadership skills Experience in social services or youth environments Demonstrate multicultural competency Able to pass a Washington state background check and UA/BA drug/alcohol screening Swimming ability and comfort with outdoor activities no less than 50% of the time Support a tobacco-free workplace and demonstrate a healthy drug and alcohol-free lifestyle
