Description SUMMARY

Interview and complete psychosocial intake diagnostic assessments with children and families. Counsel clients after selecting therapeutic approach. Provide therapeutic interventions in the school and the outpatient office, engages in client treatment during the summertime to continue treatment.

Duties and Responsibilities

Interviews and completes psychosocial intake. diagnostic assessments with children and families. Counsels’ clients after selecting therapeutic approach to use with individuals, families and/or groups with clearly established measurable goals/objectives, frequency, intensity, location and duration of treatment. Provide therapeutic interventions in the school and engages clients throughout the summertime to continue treatment: Effect improved mental health adjustments, aid clients to mobilize inner strengths and environment/social resources to improve social functioning and serve hard to reach resistant clients and families. Provide school consultation services If qualified, may administer and interpret intelligence, achievement, interest, personality and other psychological tests to diagnose disorders and formulate plans of treatment. Adheres to agency personnel policy and procedures ODMH/CARF standards, and fulfills documentation, reporting requirements. Attends and participates in staff treatment meetings, workshops and supervision. Works summer programming in an outpatient setting when school is out of session. Adheres to productivity expectations (850+50 summer) Comply with agency policies and procedures, COA regulations, federal and state requirements, and educational/certification/registry requirements. Other duties as assigned. Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

Master’s degree - counseling or social work Knowledge & skills in need and identification of abused & neglected children; child development and individual and family functioning. Ability to solve complex problems and possible crisis mental health client’s problems. Effective time management and interviewing skills. Valid Ohio Driver’s License and ability to meet agency requirements for driving insurability if applicable. Must be able to meet agency requirements for criminal background check (Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identification & Investigation) if applicable. Experience in treating children, adolescents and families individually or in a group setting
