  • The Aftercare Aide helps provide a safe, structured, and nurturing environment for students after the school day while supporting the mission and Catholic identity of the school.

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming aftercare environment.
  • Support students during transitions, scheduled activities, and dismissal procedures.
  • Reinforce school rules, behavior expectations, and program guidelines in a consistent and respectful manner.
  • Communicate professionally with aftercare staff, faculty, administration, and parents regarding student needs or concerns.
  • Follow all school policies, diocesan guidelines, and safety procedures.
  • Serve as a positive role model by demonstrating behavior consistent with Catholic values and school expectations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Aftercare Director or school administration.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with children in a school, childcare, camp, or recreational setting preferred.
  • Commitment to supporting the mission and values of Catholic education.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with staff and build positive relationships with students and families.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Dependable, patient, and able to maintain a positive attitude in a dynamic environment.
  • Ability to effectively supervise groups of children and manage behavior in a respectful manner.

  • Understanding of child supervision and age-appropriate engagement strategies.
  • Ability to maintain a safe and supportive environment for students.

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand, walk, bend, and actively supervise children for extended periods. Ability to participate in indoor and outdoor activities. Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds as needed.
