About the Role

  • The Instructor Nurse Aide Program plays a critical role in preparing aspiring nurse aides to deliver high-quality patient care in various healthcare settings.
  • This position is responsible for designing, implementing, and evaluating comprehensive training programs that meet state and federal regulatory standards.
  • The instructor will facilitate both theoretical and practical learning experiences, ensuring students acquire the necessary clinical skills and knowledge to succeed in their certification and future careers.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) License in Virginia.
  • Current state-approved Nurse Aide Instructor certification or eligibility to obtain it.
  • Infection Control Preventionist Certifcation
  • Minimum of two years of clinical experience as a nurse aide in a healthcare setting.
  • Strong knowledge of nurse aide scope of practice, patient care standards, and healthcare regulations.
  • Excellent communication and instructional skills with the ability to engage diverse learners.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience teaching or training adult learners in a healthcare or educational environment.
  • Additional certifications in healthcare education or related fields.
  • Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems and healthcare technology.
  • Background in curriculum development and assessment design.

Responsibilities

Level of Education

Nursing School Graduate: Technical or Professional License(s)/Certification(s)

Registered Nurse (current unencumbered VA license)

Infection Control Preventionist: Adult CPR (current certification)

IV Therapy Certificate: Level of Experience

At least 3 years of related work experience teaching adults, preferably in a nurse aid training program. Prefer experience in long-term care.

Supervision

The position is expected to perform independently and exercise good judgment. The position will monitor and review the work of students.
