  • Type: Part Time Instructs and coaches groups and individuals participating in water exercise classes. Creates a safe & positive atmosphere that welcomes and respects all individuals and promotes safety in accordance with YMCA policies and procedures. Builds positive relationships with members and program participants through effective listening and verbal skills and creatively finds ways to connect them to one another and the Y community.

  • FUNCTIONS: Effectively and creatively lead a healthy water fitness class. Knows and reviews all emergency procedures and can assist the lifeguards in emergency situations immediately, in accordance with YMCA policies and procedures. Responds to patron’s inquiries and concerns with a courteous and pleasant attitude. Identifies and celebrates the successes of members and program participants. Develops a class plan for each class session and arrives fully prepared. Completes records and reports in a timely and professional manner. Participates in in-service training and staff meetings as required. Maintains current required certifications. Qualifications Thorough knowledge of proper body mechanics in the water and proper use of class equipment. Thorough understanding of facility policies for class registration and session information. Leadership qualities and public relations skills. Has the physical ability to move freely about the facility. Has the swimming skills necessary to demonstrate all movements in water as needed.
