About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated Preschool Assistant Teacher to join our team in providing a safe and nurturing environment for our young learners in Indianapolis, IN. In this role, you will be responsible for assisting the lead teacher in implementing a developmentally appropriate curriculum that promotes the physical, social, emotional, and cognitive growth of children.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of a state-approved training program for early childhood education.
- Experience working with young children in a classroom setting
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with a team of teachers and support staff
- Enrollment in an associate/bachelor’s degree program or enrolled in CDA credential or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in early childhood education or a related field
- Pre-School Child Development Associate (CDA) or state equivalency
- Experience working with diverse populations of children and families
- Bilingual in English and Spanish.
Responsibilities
- Assist the lead teacher in planning and implementing a developmentally appropriate curriculum that meets the needs of all children in the classroom.
- Provide a safe and nurturing environment that promotes the physical, social, emotional, and cognitive growth of children.
- Maintain a clean and organized classroom that is conducive to learning.
- Communicate regularly with parents and caregivers to provide updates on their child's progress and address any concerns or questions they may have.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all children in your care by following all health and safety guidelines and protocols
