At The Golden Key Center for Exceptional Children, we believe every student has the ability to learn, grow, and thrive—and we’re looking for compassionate, dedicated individuals to help make that happen.

We are currently hiring Paraprofessionals to support students in our specialized, non-public charter school serving Preschool through 8th grade.

If you are someone who enjoys meaningful, hands-on work and wants to make a direct impact in students’ lives every day, we’d love to connect with you.

What You’ll Do

In this role, you’ll work closely with teachers and school leadership to support students in both educational and daily living activities. No two days are the same—and that’s part of what makes this work so rewarding.

  • Reinforce classroom instruction and help maintain a positive learning space
  • Assist with daily living needs such as feeding, hygiene, and mobility (training provided)

  • Monitor student behavior and provide support when needed
  • Collaborate with teachers and staff to prepare materials and track student progress
  • Help ensure a safe, respectful, and structured classroom environment

  • Brings a positive attitude and strong sense of responsibility

  • Maintains professionalism, confidentiality, and strong ethical standards
  • What You’ll Need
  • Associate’s Degree, High School Diploma, or Paraprofessional Aide Permit
  • Ability (or willingness to obtain) an Educational Aide Permit through the Ohio Department of Education & Workforce
  • Experience working with students with special needs is preferred

You’ll also need to

  • Complete required training (e.g., bloodborne pathogens, de-escalation, ethics)
  • Pass background requirements for school employment
  • Be comfortable supporting students with medical and developmental needs (training provided)

Work Environment & Expectations

This is an active, hands-on role. You may

  • Stand, walk, bend, or assist students throughout the day
  • Lift up to 50 pounds occasionally
  • Support students who may display behavioral challenges

Safety, teamwork, and student dignity are always top priorities.
