About the role

Assist the SCCC community with various genres of writing and oral projects. Support the delivery of campus and class workshops focused on communication.

Sussex County Community College is seeking students for positions associated with the Federal Work Study Program.

To be considered for this position, you must be a current SCCC student who has completed the FAFSA and been awarded Federal Work-Study funds. Federal Work-Study is a need-based program, and eligibility is determined by financial need, enrollment status (at least half-time), and maintaining satisfactory academic progress.

Writing Center (2 positions available for Spring 2026)

Specific responsibilities

1. Assist the community of Sussex County Community College in various genres of writing / oral projects. Assist with campus / class workshops on various types of communication 2. Office hours Monday – Thursday 9:30am – 4:30pm in person and Friday 9am – 7pm (flexible based on class schedule)

Essential skills

1. Strong writing ability 2. Good interpersonal skills 3. High level of emotional intelligence.

Requirements

Must be a current SCCC student eligible for Federal Work-Study funds via FAFSA. Requires satisfactory academic progress and at least half-time enrollment status.
