Job description
The Spring is seeking a motivated and dependable Childcare Worker for approximately 15 hours per week. The Spring is a faith-based service provider, shelter, and advocacy organization for survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking, and human trafficking Overview We're seeking a compassionate, attentive Childcare Worker to support children in a safe, structured, and nurturing environment. This role provides direct supervision, facilitates age‑appropriate activities, and uses trauma‑informed practices to promote emotional wellbeing and positive behavior. Key Responsibilities Supervise children closely and maintain required staff‑to‑child ratios Engage children in supportive, age‑appropriate activities Use positive behavior management and trauma‑informed approaches Monitor safety, emotional wellbeing, and behavior throughout programming Maintain clean, organized childcare spaces and materials Respond calmly to behavioral challenges or crisis situations Follow all safety, confidentiality, and organizational policies Document incidents, concerns, and injuries accurately
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required At least 1 year of experience working with children in a childcare, educational, shelter, or program setting Availability for afternoons and evenings (up to 15 hrs/week) Experience with children of all ages, including adolescents, preferred CPR/First Aid certification preferred Valid driver's license required Must be able to sign The Spring's Statement of Faith Skills & Abilities Understanding of trauma‑informed care Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to stay calm and professional in fast‑paced or high‑stress situations Ability to work independently and as part of a team Maintains boundaries and confidentiality The Spring is committed to providing a compensation and benefits package that strives to meet the needs of its employees.
