Company Description Rise and Shine Academy, a program of Criterion Child Enrichment, provides quality child care services to children between six week and five years of age. Each classroom offers a developmentally appropriate curriculum designed to promote learning, curiosity, and independence in a safe and nurturing environment. Rise and Shine is licensed by the Department of Early Education and Care (EEC) and accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). We are seeking an enthusiastic, caring, and dedicated teacher for the Toddler / Preschool classroom, working with children two to four years of age.
Job Description
Possesses tact and courtesy in relating to children, parents and coworkers Maintains health, safety and cleanliness standards for students and staff in the child care classroom and bathroom areas Develops daily and weekly curriculum appropriate for child care students that focuses on gross motor, perceptual/fine motor, social/emotional, language, cognitive skills and pre-literacy/literacy skills Maintains weekly lesson plans and goals Participates in the enrollment process of new children and disseminates information to parents Maintains daily attendance logs and reports three consecutive unexcused absences to the Child Care Director Consistent with Massachusetts general laws chapter 119 sections 51A-51 G, all staff is considered mandated reporters. Known or suspected instances of child abuse are to be reported to the Child Care Director Schedules two parent meetings per year Complies with all licensing and contractual requirements Maintains accurate and complete child records Reports child specific developmental or behavioral concerns to the Child Care Director Work collaboratively with community based agencies providing individualized services to assigned children Directs teaching assistant in specific program activities and daily schedules Provides classroom and driving coverage at the request of the Child care Director Prepares daily snacks that are nutritious, conducts housekeeping and monitors educational supplies Informs Child Care Director of any unusual circumstances or events Meets with the Child Care Director on a regular basis Participates in two hours of staff meeting per month. Performs other miscellaneous duties as assigned by the Child Care Director, Senior Director of Early Childhood Services, and/or the Executive Director

Education
High School diploma and college-level courses in Early Childhood Education preferred. Pediatric First Aid and CPR Training.
Experience
- Nine (9) months of experience with infants, toddlers of preschool age, children in a child care center or licensed family child care home

- Skills: Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken and written word required. Those activities in which the individual must convey detailed or important spoken or written instructions and information to students, their families, staff, management personnel and public safety officials, accurately, loudly, or quickly. Must be able to communicate effectively. The ability to speak clearly and concisely, and to convey information or articulate an opinion is essential for this position. Must be comfortable speaking / presenting to an individual or to groups. The ability to convey your message in writing using proper grammar is a basic requisite for this position.

- Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
- Reasoning
- Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

- Skills/Requirements: Must have basic computer skills. Must be able to satisfy all health requirements as outlined in the agency’s Personnel Policies.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate Child Care services are provided at the Rise and Shine Academy in individual classrooms, common areas, and outside in covered and uncovered playgrounds.
