Purpose of position
The Department of History and American Studies seeks a part-time instructor to teach at least one online, asynchronous section per semester of an ancient and medieval history course.
Duties & Responsibilities
The successful candidate will contribute to the History program through teaching introductory ancient and medieval history.
Required Competencies
- Demonstrated ability to situate pre-1500 AD Mediterranean, Near Eastern, and European history within its global context
- Effective interpersonal skills, including the ability to collaborate with faculty, staff, and students
- Ability to work with and engage diverse students and colleagues within and outside the Department of History & American Indian Studies.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to teach, inspire, and mentor students.
- Minimum requirements
- Earned master’s degree in History or relevant field
- Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check
