The School of Nursing at KSU provides comprehensive, student-centered educational support services. The Full-Time Nursing Advisor & Recruiter will join a team of professionals in the School of Nursing who are dedicated to student success. This position will provide individualized academic advising, assist students in achieving timely degree completion, and support recruitment efforts for the Nursing Program at Kentucky State University.
Serve as an academic advisor and recruiter for the School of Nursing, and engage with representatives from industry, government, and education sectors to support student career pathways and promote the program.
Provide career advising to nursing students and alumni, including job search strategies, interview preparation, and resume and cover letter development.
Conduct one-on-one advising sessions to guide students in course selection and the development of graduation plans aligned with academic goals.
Assist students with selecting majors and understanding curriculum requirements.
Provide accurate information regarding School of Nursing requirements.
Support students during course registration and monitor academic progress.
Address transition issues and refer students to appropriate campus resources as needed.
Participate in retention-focused initiatives and programming.
Represent the School of Nursing at recruitment and outreach events, such as open houses and admissions functions.
