The Recreation & Wellness Coordinator is responsible for creating and implementing engaging recreational, educational, and therapeutic activities that promote patient wellness, socialization, and recovery. This role works closely with the interdisciplinary treatment team to provide meaningful programming that supports the emotional, physical, and psychosocial needs of patients in a behavioral health setting. The ideal candidate is energetic, compassionate, creative, and passionate about making a positive impact in the lives of others.
High school graduation or equivalent required. Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in Occupational, Art, Music, or Recreation therapy, humanities, social work or related therapeutic discipline is preferred.
One (1) year of related experience, with knowledge of psychiatric patient care techniques with understanding of mental illness, is preferred.
Certification or licensure by state and/or national governing body in of the following areas: art, occupational, recreation, or music therapy, preferred.

Requirements: Successful completion of CPR Certification and successful completion of de-escalation and restraint training prior to assisting with a restraining procedure. Certification training may be obtained during new hire orientation. May be required to work overtime and flexible hours.
