Description Teacher Aide & Preschool Teacher Schedule

  • Monday – Friday, <25 hours per week
  • Supervisor: PreSchool Director

Pursuit Pre-school is located within the Pursuit Church facility near downtown Snohomish, WA, and is a ministry of The Pursuit Church. We offer early learning through a faith-based curriculum and are excited to serve our community with our hearts and passion for Jesus.

We are here to provide children with a safe space to build relationships with other children and with God. We create a community where young students can encounter the love of Jesus and begin their walk with Him. We believe that children are a gift from God to be nurtured and trained so that they may grow strong in character.

Skills and Responsibilities

Resourcefulness with assisting the lead teacher provide curriculum and other materials to provide children with a richly interactive, learning environment. Establish and enforce rules for behavior and procedures for maintaining order through indirect guidance principles. Help observe and evaluate children's performance, behavior, social/spiritual development, and physical health. Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet students' varying needs and interests. Help establish clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects and communicate those objectives to children while adapting teaching methods and materials to meet varying student interests. Monitor student behavior and assist in maintaining an orderly classroom atmosphere for the purpose of providing an optimum learning environment. Perform clerical and supportive tasks for teachers such as correcting student papers, recording grades, prepare supplemental materials as assigned. Supervise students in a variety of settings before, during, or after school. Perform positive behavior support and management. Work with students individually and /or in small groups on specific learning tasks and objectives. Interact with students in a warm and understanding manner. Know and follow the health, safety, and emergency procedures of the school. Work cooperatively and communicate successfully with staff, students, and parents. Demonstrate a commitment to the education of all children. Observe strict confidentiality regarding student and personnel information. Adapt to a variety of working situations and learn new skills. Promote and practice professional growth and development. Demonstrate professionalism through conduct, punctuality, and minimal absence. Attend staff meetings. All other tasks as assigned.

Requirements

At least 18 years old; HS Diploma or Equivalent preferred. Must be physically able to sit or stand for periods of time. Availability and flexibility to work between the hours of 8:00 am-12:00 pm. Must complete MinistrySafe Child Safety training. Be able to pass both local and federal background checks and all policies required for volunteering at The Pursuit Church. Be committed to the local church and loyal to its senior leadership. Model a passionate pursuit of the presence of God. Be able to pass both local and federal background checks. Follow all policies and procedures of The Pursuit Church and Pursuit Elementary.
