The Gymnastics Instructor is responsible for teaching gymnastics classes and ensuring a safe and fun environment for participants. They must communicate effectively with club directors and maintain the cleanliness and safety of the facility.
The Gymnastics Instructor is responsible for teaching a class and or special events in a safe and fun environment as outlined by the Director/Coordinator. Raise the participant’s self-esteem and confidence.
Ensure the safety of children in the class at all times Work and directly communicate with all the club directors and coordinators Effectively and enthusiastically teach skills to students, abiding by the lesson plans as closely as possible Ensure implementation of all safety standards and cleaning procedures Strive to improve the present level of business through all current customer policies Constantly maintain the appearance and cleanliness of the facility Maintain professional appearance and conduct himself/herself at all times in accordance with business standards found in the employee handbook Obtain and maintain certifications necessary for the specific program classes Continue to develop professional status through continued training and education Assist in the development of new service plans aimed at increasing the quality of our programs Understand lesson plans and prepare yourself to instruct students on the proper way to execute skills and activities Arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled class time Greet students as they enter and leave the facility Stay after you class to speak with parents who may have questions or concerns, and to clean up the area Always be in control of your students and manage your class effectively Handouts must go out on time, it is your responsibility to read handouts and know information Behave as a role model for your students, act professionally Educate and communicate student progressions with parents Understand each student is an individual and is important, regardless of ability Attend staff meetings as scheduled Check mailbox, bulletin board, and weekly reader during every scheduled shift Keep accurate records and submit all required class reports to the Director/Coordinator
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Must have specific class knowledge Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Thorough knowledge and application of teaching techniques relevant to the class An understanding of facility policies, procedures, and rules Leadership qualities and public relation skills
Certifications as required to teach the specific classes American Red Cross CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer USA Gymnastics Safety Certified
