Participate in a 120-hour state-approved training program consisting of classroom instruction and clinical patient experience. Learn to provide care for residents in an acute care and long-term care facility to help them maintain functional abilities.
Candidates must be at least 16 years old and pass competency tests in English, reading, and math. A criminal background check, drug screen, and basic computer proficiency are also required.
Environmental Services Director Primary Responsibilities The Housekeeping-Laundry Supervisor is responsible for oversight of the Housekeeping, Laundry and Floorcare Departments in order to provide a clean, safe and sanitary environment for the residents, staff and visitors of the facility. Responsibilities also include ensuring that a successful housekeeping program is maintained at all times and that housekeeping is in compliance with ISDH survey regulations. Environmental Services Director Essential Functions Ensuring that housekeeping, laundry and floorcare tasks are being carried out according to policy/procedure and that they are meeting quality assurance standards of the facility Overseeing the recruitment, interviewing and selection of housekeeping, laundry and floorcare personnel Preparing written employee performance evaluations and making recommendations for salary increases, terminations and disciplinary actions Maintaining knowledge of State and Federal regulations for housekeeping/environmental issues for in-servicing purposes Maintaining and complying with department budgets and being prudent with the ordering of supplies and equipment Maintaining Floorcare Schedule Disposing of refuse daily in accordance with our established sanitation procedures Maintaining the confidentiality of all residents and their care to ensure residents rights, privacy and property are protected at all times Other duties as assigned
Environmental Services Director Qualifications Have a thorough understanding of housekeeping, laundry and floorcare practices within the State of employment. Must possess managerial and interpersonal skills The ability to maintain budgets, records and reports The possession of personal integrity and the ability to deal tactfully with residents, family members, visitors, government agencies and personnel The ability to get along with departments as a Team Player A high school diploma or GED preferred
