What We’re Looking For: Are you a compassionate Licensed Professional Counselor ready to support students’ mental health and success in Texas schools?
Here's what you’ll need to join our team: Education: Master’s degree or higher in Counseling, Clinical Mental Health Counseling, School Counseling, Psychology, or a closely related field from an accredited program.
Licensure
Active Licensed Professional Counselor license in Texas through the Texas Behavioral Health Executive Council. LPC-Associates may be considered when appropriate supervision is available.
Experience
Experience providing counseling services to children, adolescents, or school-aged populations is preferred.
School-Based
Experience: Prior experience working in a school setting, collaborating with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams, is preferred but not required.
Language
Proficiency: Bilingual skills are preferred but not required.
Your Role
As a Licensed Professional Counselor, you’ll play an important role in supporting students’ social, emotional, behavioral, and mental health needs within the school environment.
Your responsibilities will include:
Provide
Counseling
Services: Deliver individual and group counseling services to students in accordance with district guidelines, student needs, and applicable service plans.
Support
Student
Mental
Health: Address concerns such as anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, behavior challenges, emotional regulation, peer relationships, and coping skills.
Collaborate with
School
Teams: Work closely with teachers, administrators, parents, counselors, and support staff to promote student wellness and academic success.
Participate in
Student
Support
Meetings: Attend ARD meetings, parent conferences, student support team meetings, and other collaborative discussions as needed to support students’ needs.
Develop
Interventions: Assist in creating targeted, evidence-based strategies and supports that help students improve emotional functioning, behavior, participation, and access to education.
Monitor
Progress: Maintain accurate and confidential documentation of counseling services, student progress, and communication with families and school personnel.
Provide
Crisis
Support: Assist with crisis intervention, risk assessment support, safety planning, and referrals to outside resources when appropriate.
Promote
Wellness: Help foster a positive school climate by supporting prevention efforts, social-emotional learning, and mental health awareness. Your contributions will help students build resilience, overcome barriers, and thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
