Teach assigned courses in the Spanish California Bilingual Authorization program using an online, student-centered format. Provide constructive feedback on assessments and collaborate with program leadership to improve course quality and candidate success.
Candidates must have demonstrated proficiency in Spanish and English with experience in bilingual or multilingual education settings. A master's degree or higher and a California teaching credential with Bilingual Authorization are preferred.
A master’s degree or higher in bilingual education, Spanish, applied linguistics, language education, curriculum and instruction, TESOL, or a closely related field. Current or prior California teaching credential with Bilingual Authorization in Spanish. Experience teaching or supervising teacher candidates in higher education. Experience teaching online or asynchronous courses. Experience mentoring bilingual teacher candidates, student teachers, or practicing educators. Knowledge of Spanish-English biliteracy assessment, dual language program models, and family/community engagement in bilingual education. Experience working with culturally and linguistically diverse school communities. Work Environment: A remote adjunct work environment is a flexible, virtual setting where instructors deliver course content, engage with students, and fulfill academic responsibilities from a remote location. This environment typically relies on digital communication tools, learning management systems (LMS), and virtual collaboration platforms to facilitate teaching and interaction.
