If you are looking for a dynamic school role where no two days are exactly the same, this could be a great fit. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with children, values teamwork, and wants to be an essential part of the daily life of the school.

At Primrose, this is not a traditional assistant role with a classroom hierarchy. This is a school-based support teaching position that moves where needed, helps classrooms stay strong, and provides reliable coverage across the building. Over time, this role may become more consistently connected to one classroom based on school needs and fit.

How this role works

As a Support Teacher, you will work across multiple classrooms as needed during the school day. You may help with transitions, classroom coverage, daily routines, child supervision, and maintaining a calm, organized environment for children and faculty. This role is important to the consistency and stability of the entire school.

What you will do

Provide classroom coverage and teaching support where needed across the school Supervise children in classrooms, shared spaces, and on the playground Help maintain a safe, positive, and organized environment throughout the day Support daily routines such as arrivals, transitions, meals, rest time, and cleanup Step into different classrooms and adapt quickly to the needs of the children and teaching team Help prepare materials and maintain organized learning spaces Build positive relationships with children, families, and faculty across the school Communicate professionally with teammates and leadership Help ensure classrooms run smoothly and consistently even when needs shift throughout the day Why this role stands out

This role is a strong fit for someone who is flexible, dependable, and comfortable working with a variety of age groups, teaching teams, and classroom needs. It is also a strong entry point for someone who wants hands-on experience in early childhood education while developing broad school-based experience.
