Overview of job responsibilities: Plan and implement engaging, developmentally appropriate curriculum for toddlers using the Early Head Start curriculum. Lead, support, and mentor classroom staff through collaboration, coaching, and professional development opportunities. Maintain a safe, clean, and nurturing classroom environment while ensuring compliance with health and safety standards. Monitor and assess children's developmental progress, complete required screenings and assessments, and coordinate referrals as needed. Complete and maintain accurate documentation, including attendance, lesson plans, observations, health checks, and TSG (Teaching Strategies Gold data). Build positive partnerships with families through ongoing communication and parent engagement. Participate in trainings, meetings, and agency initiatives while supporting the mission and values of the organization.
High School Diploma or equivalent required. Minimum one year experience working with children ages 6 weeks to 3 years. Child Development Associates (CDA) Credential required within the first year of employment. Prior experience working with children or in a day care and classroom setting. Must meet NYS/Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS) regulations requirements. Must meet health standards for OCFS licensing, be able to lift up to 40 pounds and be able to participate in all developmentally appropriate activities.
