Job Description: The Learning Experience®

Position Title: Teacher Assistant (Full-Time)

Position Summary

The Teacher Assistant supports the Lead Teacher in creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment for children. This role assists with implementing daily classroom activities, supervising children, maintaining classroom organization, and promoting each child's social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Lead Teacher in implementing developmentally appropriate curriculum and activities.
  • Supervise and ensure the safety and well-being of all children at all times.
  • Support children with daily routines, including meals, diapering/toileting, rest time, and transitions.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming classroom environment.
  • Foster positive relationships with children, families, and fellow team members.
  • Encourage children's social, emotional, and academic growth through positive interactions.
  • Follow all state licensing regulations, health and safety procedures, and company policies.
  • Help prepare classroom materials and learning centers.
  • Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and professional development opportunities.
  • Communicate classroom needs and concerns to the Lead Teacher and management team.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous experience working with young children Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Passion for early childhood education and child development.
  • Must meet all state licensing requirements, including background checks and required certifications.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and actively engage with children throughout the day.
  • Ability to respond quickly to children's needs and emergencies.
