Job description

The Role As an ELA Content Coach (ELA Teacher), you will serve as the primary instructional resource for our Graduation Candidates (GCs), delivering competency-based content, supporting personalized learning, and guiding students toward graduation and post-secondary success. You’ll work with a collaborative team to provide academic, social-emotional, and career-oriented support that empowers each learner’s journey. You will manage eight concurrent English preps (English I–IV, A and B), working with a collaborative onsite team to provide academic, social-emotional, and career-oriented support that empowers each learner’s journey.

Key Responsibilities Enrollment Support new GC enrollment through recruitment and engagement efforts Assist with the development of Personalized Learning Plans for GCs Retention Serve as an advisor for assigned GCs by maintaining communication with learners and their support team Monitor attendance, academic progress, and overall wellness to ensure consistent engagement and achievement Academics Plan and deliver content-area instruction in both individual and small group settings across eight concurrent English preps Maintain a 24-hour grading turnaround for all student work Monitor GC academic progress toward course completion and mastery using formative and summative assessments Support student preparation for STAAR EOC exams, with particular emphasis on English I and English II Provide intensive remediation in reading and writing to address learning gaps common in this population Analyze academic data to inform instruction and improve outcomes Participate in professional development, data meetings, and school/community events Advocacy Collaborate with the GC support team to develop personalized learning pathways, transition strategies, and incentive plans Represent the academy in community events and contribute to academy-wide initiatives Perform other responsibilities as needed to support the academy’s mission Dedicate the first hour of the day to student outreach and communication Provide in-person tutoring and mastery support on students’ scheduled onsite days Complete routine administrative tasks including grade entry, completion tracking, and data updates Enforce academy policies including attendance and participation boundaries consistently and with empathy
