  • Middle School Math Teacher Teaching Matters Here Prelude Prep is a tuition-free public charter school serving students in Pre-K through 8th grade in San Antonio. We are seeking a Middle School Math Teacher who is passionate about helping students develop confidence, problem-solving skills, and a deep understanding of mathematics. Whether you are an experienced educator or someone with a strong background in mathematics, engineering, science, finance, or a related field, we are looking for someone who believes students can achieve at high levels and is excited to help them get there. The ideal candidate values strong relationships, maintains high expectations, and understands that mathematics is about much more than getting the right answer. What You'll Do As a Middle School Math Teacher, you will help students develop mathematical reasoning, problem-solving skills, and conceptual understanding while fostering a classroom culture built on effort, persistence, and academic growth. Responsibilities include:
  • Deliver engaging, standards-aligned mathematics instruction
  • Build students' conceptual understanding while developing procedural fluency
  • Create a structured classroom environment where students are challenged to think critically and explain their reasoning
  • Use student data to monitor progress and adjust instruction
  • Support students in developing confidence and perseverance when faced with challenging problems
  • Build strong relationships with students and families
  • Collaborate with colleagues to improve outcomes for students
  • Participate actively in coaching, planning, and professional development

Qualifications

  • Required
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check
  • Eligibility to work in the United States Preferred
  • Texas teaching certification in Mathematics
  • Previous classroom teaching experience
  • Experience working with middle school students
  • Background in mathematics, engineering, science, finance, economics, statistics, or a related field
  • Experience tutoring, mentoring, coaching, leading youth programs, or working with children in another setting Teaching certification is preferred but not required. We are willing to invest in the right candidate who demonstrates strong content knowledge, a commitment to student growth, and the ability to build meaningful relationships with students.   • Salary: $55,000–$65,000

Requirements
