Market context

Remote Indiana teaching roles need state certification

Remote teaching roles in Indiana typically draw steady interest because they require an active Indiana teaching certification and in-state residency, which narrows the eligible applicant pool. These positions are often competitive for candidates who are comfortable with Google Workspace, can work 25-27 hours per week during core business hours, and want part-time benefits such as dental, vision, paid holidays, accident insurance, and critical illness insurance. Review the AI-summarized requirements and benefits here to save time, then confirm your certification status and schedule fit before applying.

  • What does it look like to be an OpenEd Teacher?
  • OpenEd Teachers play a key role in supporting students through their educational journey.
  • Teachers work directly with students and families to provide encouragement, accountability, and individualized support while collaborating with colleagues across the program.
  • All OpenEd Teachers share the same core role, regardless of certification or endorsement area.

  • In addition to their core student group, teachers may take on additional assignments across the program, such as tutoring, small-group instruction, or other areas of support, based on program needs.
  • While specific assignments may shift over time, the core responsibilities of an OpenEd Teacher remain consistent.
  • Teachers should expect regular synchronous work with students, ongoing communication with students and parents, and grading responsibilities aligned with program expectations.
