Position Title: Part-time Faculty, First-Year Composition and Reading Position Type: Fixed Term (Fixed Term)
The Writing Instruction Program (housed in the Department of English) is seeking part-time adjunct faculty. Faculty members might teach first-year writing or reading courses, including co-requisite courses with reading or writing support, and reading. These positions report to the Director of the Writing instruction Program. Teach between three and nine hours (1-3 classes) of college writing and/or reading per semester. Provide support to students through office hours. Align assignments and curriculum with programmatic and university student learning outcomes. Master’s Degree in English or a closely related field (with at least 18 hours of graduate coursework in English) Strong background in and evidence of teaching composition and reading and working with first-year students. Experience teaching co-requisite writing courses and/or experience teaching non-native speakers is desired, as is a commitment to intercultural competence and inclusive excellence. The pay for a three-credit varies slightly based on years of experience and education but is projected to be between $2700 and $3000 per three-credit course.
