What Makes a Good Academy Employee?
Responsible for providing for a safe and secure school environment, fostering an optimal learning environment and acting as a deterrent to unsafe or poor behavior by patrolling the field, monitoring student behavior, enforcing school, District, and CHSAA policies, intervening in physical encounters, monitoring visitors, reporting unsafe or unhealthy conditions and assisting administrators and/or public officials with emergency or investigative situations.
EDUCATION AND RELATED WORK EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or equivalent. Knowledge and experience with coaching LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS or CERTIFICATIONS: Criminal background check required for hire. Current CPR, First Aid and AED certifications. 1 year registered CHSAA or PERM Coach certification. Current CHSAA certifications required. TECHNICAL SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES: Knowledgeable in sport. Common sense, problem solving, mediation skills and mature attitude. Ability to respond to hostile situations and intervene in physical altercations. Ability to work with large groups of students, including students with special needs. Ability to maintain confidentiality in all aspects of the job. Ability to manage multiple tasks with frequent interruptions. Ability to manage multiple priorities. Ability to diffuse and manage volatile and stressful situations. Ability to promote and follow Board of Education policies, Authorizer policies and building and department procedures. Ability to communicate, interact and work effectively and cooperatively with people from diverse ethnic and educational backgrounds. MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT OPERATING KNOWLEDGE: Operating knowledge of and experience with personal computers and peripherals. Operating knowledge of information technology systems and any other department specific software and equipment required within 2 months after entering position. REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS & DIRECTION/GUIDANCE: Responsible for monitoring and ensuring the behavior and safety of students on school grounds. Reports to:Athletic Director and Head Athletic Coach Direct reports and # of employees:None Provide Head Athletic Coach all purchase information, before any monies are spent. Final authorizer is the Athletic Director. Employee is responsible for accuracy of cash collections and funds security. Follow all fundraising requirements as outlined by the Finance Department.
