  • Nurse (RN) to provide dedicated 1:1 nursing support to students with Severe Multiple Impairments (SXI). Your work ensures that medically complex students can come to school safely, participate fully in their school community, and access the education they deserve. You will be an essential member of a district nursing team led by a passionate District Nurse, who brings deep pediatric expertise and a strong commitment to student health and school access within this school district. ABOUT SXI STUDENTS Students with Severe Multiple Impairments (SXI) have moderate to severe cognitive impairments alongside one or more significant sensory, physical, or health impairments. Many of our students are medically complex, and your presence as their nurse is what makes it possible for them to be at school each day — safe, supported, and included in their school community alongside their fellow students.   • Responsibilities
  • Provide full-day, 1:1 nursing care and accompaniment on transportation for assigned SXI student(s) Deliver skilled medical care including tracheostomy management, ventilator monitoring, G-tube feedings, and seizure response protocols Monitor student health status in real time and respond promptly to any medical needs or changes in condition Assist with positioning, mobility, and adaptive strategies to support safe classroom participation Collaborate daily with the SXI classroom team — teachers, paraprofessionals, and therapists — to integrate health care into the learning environment Communicate proactively with families and the supervising district nurse regarding health updates and care plans Substitute and provide coverage support across district SXI settings as needed

Qualifications
