Teach English and Humanities curriculum to students in grades 5-8 while collaborating with colleagues to develop student-centered lessons. Support diverse learning styles and foster students' critical thinking and social-emotional skills.
Requires a bachelor's degree in English or Education and at least three years of humanities teaching experience at a similar grade level. Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in instructional technology and strong classroom management skills.
Include: Teach English curriculum to students in assigned grade level sections. Collaborate with colleagues to develop and deliver comprehensive, student-centered curriculum. Support student learning by incorporating a variety of pedagogical approaches to facilitate understanding across an array of learning styles. Develop students’ critical thinking, intellectual, and social-emotional skills. Collaborate with learning specialists to identify and support those students requirin additional resources or enrichment activities to promote optimal engagement with thei learning. Communicate with students, parents, and colleagues in a timely and professiona manner. Required Qualifications: A bachelor’s degree in English, education, or related; master’s preferred. A minimum of three years of previous Humanities teaching at a similar grade level. Excellent classroom management skills. Demonstrated confidence and aptitude with the use of instructional technology, such as Google suite for education and related resources. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to connect with all members of the community. Demonstrated interest in being part of a collaborative team. Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in all aspects of work. Ability to maintain absolute confidentiality and the integrity of all aspects of informationdisseminated within or external to the school community. Commitment to being part of a diverse, equitable and inclusive school community. This is a full-time, 10-month per year position. The salary range for this position is $55,000 to $90,000, based on experience.
