Perelman Jewish Day School, a Pre-Kindergarten to 5th Grade independent school in the Philadelphia area, is seeking a motivated team player to join our community as a General Studies Associate Teacher (Fourth Grade) for the 2026 - 2027 School Year.
Assist classroom teachers during class time, working primarily in individual and small group settings to address the personal learning needs of the students; instructing small group reading, math, and writing. Provide remediation and enrichment opportunities for all students as needed and identified in partnership with the classroom teacher. During meeting time with classroom teacher(s): Stay informed of individual student needs Help prepare materials for the classroom Help plan for parent/teacher conferences and regular parent communication (ex: weekly newsletter) Contribute ideas, participate in discussions, engage with other teachers (ex: collaborate on a regular basis with grade level team for cross-curricular integration) Join the classroom teacher for parent/teacher conferences or staff conference camp, depending on current staffing needs Two lunch/recess duties per week; average of 1 preparatory period a day
Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field; graduate degree preferred Strong knowledge of developmental needs of young children and appropriate curricula that meet those needs Full understanding of differentiated instructional strategies across the curriculum Outstanding interpersonal and organizational skills Exceptional written and oral communication skills Technology skills including Google Suite and Google Classroom High-energy and enthusiastic about working in the Jewish day school atmosphere Growth mindset and desire to build one’s skills as an educator
