Work Readiness Counselor

Overview The mission of Helio Heath, Inc. is to promote recovery from the effects of substance use and mental health disorders and other health issues. Helio Health is seeking a Work Readiness Counselor for our Elements Program in Liverpool, New York to assist clients in achieving a recovery lifestyle and meet the vocational rehabilitation needs of clients.

Hours

• M-F 8am-4:30pm
• Pay: $23.00/hr. - $25.58/hr. In addition to Helio Health’s comprehensive benefits package, this position is eligible for a Sign-On incentive up to $1,500!

Responsibilities

Provides individual and group vocational counseling services to include: Assessment of vocational and educational assessments. Facilitates referrals for additional vocational assessments. Treatment planning. Expressive and experiential therapy modalities. Didactic Lectures. Provides job preparation and ongoing job development training. Discharge planning. Record-keeping. Works with community organizations and agencies to enhance Vocational and Living Skills programming. Performs Quality Assurance activities to include: Provides services according to agency policies and procedures and governmental regulations. Evaluates programming and identifies strengths/problems Assists in problem resolution and implementing appropriate program modifications. Participates in committees as assigned. Maintains appropriate program records and statistical accountability. Represents program to the community. Other tasks as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in counseling or related discipline preferred. Master's degree in counseling or other related discipline preferred. Vocational rehabilitation counseling experience required. QHP preferred but not required. Equivalent alternative combination of education and experience will be considered. Knowledge of community educational and vocational resources. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Proficiency with basic computer applications. Must have a valid NYS Driver's License.
