Overview The mission of Helio Heath, Inc. is to promote recovery from the effects of substance use and mental health disorders and other health issues. Helio Health is seeking a Vocational Counselor II for our Insights of Helio Health Program in Gloversville, NY to assist clients in achieving a recovery lifestyle and meet the vocational rehabilitation needs of clients.
Provides individual and group vocational counseling services to include: Assessment of vocational and educational assessments. Facilitates referrals for additional vocational assessments. Treatment planning. Expressive and experiential therapy modalities. Didactic Lectures. Provides job preparation and ongoing job development training. Discharge planning. Record-keeping. Works with community organizations and agencies to enhance Vocational and Living Skills programming. Performs Quality Assurance activities to include: Provides services according to agency policies and procedures and governmental regulations. Evaluates programming and identifies strengths/problems Assists in problem resolution and implementing appropriate program modifications. Participates in committees as assigned. Maintains appropriate program records and statistical accountability. Represents program to the community. Other tasks as assigned by supervisor.
Master's degree in counseling or other related discipline required. Vocational rehabilitation counseling experience required. QHP preferred but not required. Equivalent alternative combination of education and experience will be considered. Knowledge of community educational and vocational resources. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Proficiency with basic computer applications. Must have a valid NYS Driver's License.
