Provide targeted reading intervention and literacy support for students in Kindergarten through 3rd Grade. Collaborate with teachers and families to implement individualized literacy plans and monitor student progress using data-driven tools.
A high school diploma is required, while an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Education or Literacy is preferred. Candidates should have experience with elementary students and knowledge of evidence-based reading instruction strategies.
Provide direct reading intervention and literacy support to K–3 students. Assess student reading abilities using screening, diagnostic, and progress-monitoring tools. Develop and implement individualized literacy intervention plans. Collaborate with classroom teachers to support effective reading instruction and differentiated learning strategies. Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records of interventions and outcomes. Participate in MTSS meetings and contribute to data-driven decision-making. Recommend instructional materials and resources to support literacy development. Support the implementation of school-wide literacy initiatives and evidence-based instructional practices. Foster a positive and encouraging learning environment that promotes student growth and a love of reading. Maintain confidentiality and comply with all school policies, procedures, and applicable regulations. QualificationsRequired Experience working with elementary-aged students preferred but not required. Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills. Ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and staff. Preferred Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Education, Elementary Education, Literacy, Reading, or a related field. Experience providing reading intervention services to K–3 students. Knowledge of literacy assessment tools and progress-monitoring systems. Knowledge of evidence-based reading instruction and literacy intervention strategies. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Understanding of foundational literacy skills, including phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension. Ability to analyze assessment data and adjust instruction accordingly. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with students and staff. Ability to work independently while also contributing as part of a collaborative team. Proficiency with educational technology and student data systems. Commitment to helping all students achieve academic growth and success. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the school day. Ability to sit, bend, kneel, crouch, and move between classrooms and instructional spaces. Ability to frequently communicate with students, staff, and families. Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull instructional materials, books, and classroom supplies weighing up to 25 pounds. Ability to supervise and actively engage with students in classroom and intervention settings. Ability to operate standard office equipment and educational technology, including computers, tablets, printers, and copiers. Work Environment This position is performed primarily in a school setting and involves working directly with elementary-aged students in classrooms, small-group settings, and intervention spaces. The role requires regular interaction with students, teachers, administrators, and families in a collaborative educational environment.
