As a Teacher Assistant, you’ll work side-by-side with lead educators to enhance instruction, support classroom management, and build meaningful relationships with students. Whether guiding a small group, or encouraging teamwork on the playground, you’ll be a vital part of our students’ daily success. Key Responsibilities Support classroom instruction by assisting with lessons, managing behavior, and supervising student activities. Work with individual students or small groups to reinforce academic concepts and build skills. Provide classroom coverage when teachers are absent, using prepared materials and adapting as needed. Help prepare, organize, and manage instructional materials and classroom resources. Supervise and ensure student safety during non-instructional times (lunch, recess, carpool). Assist students with special needs or learning plans (IEPs, 504s), following teacher guidance. Foster a respectful, engaging, and supportive learning environment. Reinforce Lincoln Academy’s policies regarding dress code, behavior, and safety. Guide families through the carpool process (morning or afternoon shifts as assigned). Typical Day: 8:00 AM – 2:30 PM You’ll be actively engaged with students throughout the school day—transitioning smoothly between classroom, lunchroom, recess duty, and carpool—all while modeling professionalism and positivity. Examples of Day-to-Day Decisions You May Make: Redirect student behavior during recess or carpool. Adjust activities or timing during sub coverage based on student needs. Assign lunchroom seating or clean-up tasks as needed. Contact parents if a student is sick or injured. Refer students for dress code or behavior concerns. Submit tech/facility support tickets. Prior experience working with students or in an educational setting is preferred. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with children. Ability to collaborate and contribute to a supportive team culture. Well-organized, detail-oriented, and adaptable to changing needs. Comfortable with technology and instructional tools. Schedule & Hours Part Time - Avg 28-30 hrs/week Days are Monday through Friday during the academic year. Hours between 7:35 AM to 2:45PM with 30 min lunch break built in.
