JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS Penn State Greater Allegheny has an immediate opening for a Assistant Women's Basketball Coach. Penn State Greater Allegheny is a member of the Penn State University Athletic Conference (PSUAC) and the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA). This is a part-time 9-month appointment reporting to the Director of Athletics. Job Duties The Assistant Women's Basketball Coach is responsible for the organization and administration of all phases of a comprehensive Basketball program. They should have the ability to effectively motivate student-athletes, as well as a demonstrated commitment to high academic standards, healthy lifestyles, demonstrated leadership skills, ability to manage team dynamics, and a commitment to NCAA regulations. Instruct student athletes in the rules and fundamentals of the respective sport. Execute coaching strategies, practice plans, and skill development activities; develop game day strategies. May respond to media requests and maintain access/availability of student-athletes; provide information to the media about the team, the program, upcoming competitions, etc. May supervise student managers, volunteer coaches, undergraduate coaches, and other personnel. Requirements and Qualifications Successful background in coaching and playing experience preferred. Evidence of the ability to build a winning program consistent with the values of NCAA Division III and the mission of Penn State Greater Allegheny is required. Additionally, an understanding of, and commitment to, NCAA, PSUAC, and USCAA Rules and Regulations is required. BACKGROUND CHECKS/CLEARANCES This position requires the following clearances in addition to applicable background checks: PA State Police Criminal Background Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form, and Federal (FBI) Fingerprint Criminal Background Check. This position requires that you operate a motor vehicle as a part of your job duties. A valid driver’s license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required in addition to standard background checks.
