Job description

Graders evaluate submitted student work for content, competency and adherence to the instructions and rubric. Graders are held to efficiency and quality goals. Essential

Duties & Responsibilities

Accurately read and measure student performance in Spanish and French based against a grading rubric. Collaboratively work with the Lead for the course(s) to provide the student with constructive, supportive and concise feedback. Complete grading rubrics and leave detailed feedback and comments for the learner. Check student submissions for plagiarism and for grammar. Provide in-context feedback and scoring using the Sophia-provided rubric. Participate in calibration efforts to ensure consistency of quality for our learners. Job Skills: Subject matter competency in Spanish and French. Prioritization and time management skills. Must be able to maintain confidentiality. Exhibits sound judgment in making decisions. Ability to keep accurate records. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Must have strong computer skills (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.). Work Experience: Current or prior HS or Post-secondary teaching experience in Spanish and French required.

Education

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution is required; Master’s degree is preferred.

Regular, dependable attendance and punctuality are essential functions of this job. Other essential functions and marginal job functions are subject to modification Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. $20/hr is the expected starting pay for this position. This offer is based on current budgetary guidelines and the additional factors outlined below. SEI offers a comprehensive package of benefits to employees scheduled 30 hours or more per week.
