About FosterAdopt Connect At Foster Adopt Connect (FAC), we're part of something much bigger than ourselves. Every day, our teams work with children, teens, and families who are facing challenges in the child welfare system. For over 25 years, we've been creating unique solutions in Kansas and Missouri, helping children have brighter futures and building stronger communities.

  • About The Behavioral Interventionist Program Behavioral Interventionists work one-on-one with children who have mental health and/or behavioral health challenges, often with histories of abuse and neglect.
  • The youth in our program experience behavioral and/or relational difficulties to the extent that it may threaten the stability of their living situation.
  • Our staff use a wide range of trauma-informed and brain-stimulating activities may be used, from performing daily responsibilities and living skills to regulating and fun tasks.
  • What You’ll Be Doing Behavioral Interventionists work with kids on neuro-developmental activities that help re-train negative pathways in the brain.
  • This approach helps break the cycle of constantly being in fight, flight, or freeze mode.
  • By role-modeling, coaching, and redirecting, our direct care staff assist children in self-regulating and building independence.
  • BIs model appropriate behaviors and support their client in developing positive skills within themselves.
  • You'll follow an individualized behavioral plan while receiving ongoing training, supervision, and professional development.
  • Our staff are encouraged to create engaging activities based on the interests and goals of their client.
  • You will work with your client 3-5 times per week usually afternoons, evenings, and weekends providing consistent, high quality services.
  • Helping children build the skills they need to manage emotions, develop healthy relationships, improve communication, and succeed at home, school, and in their communities.
  • Our staff support and adhere to the family’s routine and structures while modeling and offering supportive behavioral strategies.

Qualifications

Must be at least 21 years of age. High school diploma required; bachelor’s degree, preferred. Experience working with elevated behavioral needs, preferred. Must be willing and able to perform safety holds on clients who are at immediate risk for harming themselves or others. Must be able to navigate stairs, climb, twist, bend, and lift up to 100 pounds. Must have smart phone (Android/iPhone) and laptop/computer willing to use for work purposes. Willing to commute up to 25-30 miles to a client’s home. Valid driver’s license, car insurance, and reliable transportation. Maintain First Aid/CPR and Crisis Prevention Certifications Compensation & Benefits: Hourly range $21.65-$24/hour, commensurate with degree(s) and experience Paid Time Off/Vacation accrual with max accumulation of 60hrs per year Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Paid initial & on-going training Mileage reimbursement
