The Lead Teacher plans and leads engaging STEAM, fitness, and academic activities for Pre-K children in an after-school setting. They are also responsible for program compliance, daily operational management, and maintaining communication with parents via the Playground App.
Candidates must hold an Associate's degree in Child Development, a Bachelor's degree, or a recognized professional credential with relevant experience. Physical ability to lift 50 pounds and medical clearance are also required.
Description Healthy Kids Programs is seeking an energetic, passionate individual who loves working with children to join our team as a Pre-K Lead Teacher for our After School Program during the 2026–2027 school year.
Part time, non-exempt LOCATION: Patricia A. DiChiaro School in Yonkers, NY PAY: $18.00 per hour HOURS: 2:45 - 6:00 pm (Subject to change)
Employer-Paid Childcare Healthy Kids Programs provides childcare for school-age children (ages 3–12) enrolled in our program on the days and during the hours you work. Employer contributions cover the cost of care, so you can focus on your job while your child participates in a safe, structured, and engaging program, all without needing to arrange outside care.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Candidates must meet one of the following: Associate's degree in Child Development, Child Development Certificate, Bachelor's Degree and or equivalent degree. Child Development Associate Credential or another Office-recognized credential specific to the preschool developmental period (with 1 year of experience). 9 Credits in Early Childhood, Child Development or a related field with a plan of study leading to Associates or other Office recognized credential (with 1 year of experience).
Must be medically cleared to perform all job duties and free of communicable diseases, including tuberculosis (TB). Demonstrates a positive, friendly demeanor with strong interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with children, parents, and team members. Dependable, punctual, and professional in conduct and appearance. Able to bend, stretch, lift, and carry up to 50 pounds, and meet the physical demands of working with children.
