The Teacher's Assistant will help children with special needs develop cognitive, social-emotional, and motor skills. They will work within a multidisciplinary team to provide patient-centered care in a clinic setting.
A high school diploma is required, and a CDA certification is preferred. Candidates should ideally have at least one year of experience working with developmentally at-risk children.
Education/ Certification: High school diploma or equivalent. CDA preferred. Skills/ Abilities: Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with a wide variety of people. Must be able to work with children birth to age 18 and families who are at risk. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy. Basic computer skills which includes a working knowledge of database, word processing, spreadsheet, and Internet software. Ability to handle multiple tasks in a very busy environment. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide, in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
