Job Summary: Under general supervision, and on a part-time temporary basis, teaches courses as needed in any of the following disciplines: English, Math, History, Science, Languages (Chinese, French and/or Spanish), Fine Arts, and Physical Education. Specific Responsibilities: Provides classroom instruction and management Is familiar with and comply with all policies and regulations as put forth in the school’s documents Since safety and security are everyone’s responsibility, takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, faculty, staff, equipment, materials and facilities Implement existing lesson plans with fidelity, ensuring academic continuity and meeting the primary teacher’s daily learning objectives Provides meaningful feedback on student work completed during the day and leaves detailed notes for the returning classroom teacher regarding student progress and behavior Accurately tracks and records daily attendance and tardiness Fulfills non-instructional supervisory duties as assigned, which may include monitoring hallways, lunch periods, and recess Upholds and enforces the school’s student code of conduct including dress code, technology use policies, and behavioral expectations Escorts and supervises students during school-wide events, assemblies, or emergency drills occurring during the assignment period Checks and responds to school email promptly on assignment days for updates regarding schedule changes, special schedules, or student needs Performs other duties as assigned Qualifications Required Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university in one of the disciplines listed above required Master’s degree preferred 2+ years’ teaching experience in a related field required 5+ years’ teaching experience preferred Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Flexibility and adaptability to meet the needs of the students and program Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to maintain confidential information Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusivity Ability to work efficiently in a Microsoft Windows or Mac environment using Office, master common automated systems for record keeping, and learn new technology Comfortable with operating Audio/Visual equipment Ability to work and communicate well with all levels of faculty and staff Ability to work and communicate well with students and their parents Pay & Benefits: Rate of pay: $115 for 3.5 Hours (half day) or $230 for 7 hours (full day) Since this position is part-time and temporary, only mandated benefits are offered.
