Job Summary: Under general supervision, is responsible for cooperating with the Varsity Head Coach to lead one of the two JV Volleyball teams. Season begins on Monday, August 24th and concludes late October. Practices will be held approximately four to five times a week 3:00-4:30 or 4:30-6:00 as facility space allows. There will be Saturday practices and games. Specific Responsibilities: Teaches appropriate fundamentals, techniques and skills Is responsible for health and safety of the athletes In cooperation with Varsity Head Coach, articulates a well-defined and understandable coaching philosophy Applies developmentally appropriate and age-appropriate methods to coaching student-athletes Emphasize sportsmanship and leadership among athletes Clearly communicates to players, parents, administrators and staff Positively motivate athletes and promote teamwork Attends all meetings and training as required by the league and/or Athletic Director Is familiar with and comply with all policies and regulations as put forth in the school’s documents Since safety and security are everyone’s responsibility, it takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, faculty, staff, equipment, materials and facilities Performs other duties as assigned QualificationsRequired Education & Experience: High School diploma or GED required Bachelor’s degree in physical education or related field from a four-year college or university preferred Demonstrated competence and experience in coaching volleyball required Recent successful coaching experience in an Upper School environment preferred Must possess or be willing to obtain valid First Aid/CPR card Salary: Salary Stipend is based on experience and ranges from $4,000-$5,000 Stipend paid in two installments on the last workday of each month of September and October This position is eligible for statutory benefits only If this sounds like you, complete our online employment application. Requirements

A high school diploma is required, while a bachelor's degree in physical education is preferred. Candidates must have demonstrated competence in coaching volleyball and possess or be willing to obtain First Aid/CPR certification.
