  • Summary:
  • Provides direct supervision of individuals (1:1) or small groups (1:3) of children with special needs to facilitate their inclusion into YMCA programs. This position is responsible for leading students who are participating in childcare programing to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all participants, actively engage in planning and implementation of quality YMCA programs and objectives, and to serve as a positive role model by focusing on

  • Essential
  • Functions: Assist in the preparation and implementation of program elements while facilitating a smooth transition and the inclusion of all participants. Creates a safe and supportive learning environment.
  • Works individually (1:1) or with a group (1:3) of participants with special needs in accordance with levels of supervision and school identified behavior plan. Ensures safety and well-being of all program participants. Provides continual supervision of program participants and serves as a leader and positive role model. Reports any suspected child abuse to Site Director or Program Director. Attend mandatory trainings. Maintains positive rapport with school personnel. Directs all parental questions and/or concerns as well as any accidents or physical concerns to Site Director or Program Director. Assumes and performs other duties deemed appropriate and necessary by the Site Director or Program Director. Follows and maintains all YMCA standards, goals, and objectives.
  • QualificationsQualifications: At least 1 year direct experience working with children required Ability to follow directions and duties as assigned by Site Director or Program Director. Positive attitude, team player, and previous experience working with diverse populations. 10-30 hours per week. Must provide a health physical and proof of TB testing within 30 days of hire.
